Internal Complaints Committee
Mandate
The UGC Regulations 2015 stipulates the composition of
Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in Section-4. The
regulation provides framework for prevention, prohibition
and redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and
students in higher educational institutions.
As mandated by the Act of 2013, and the UGC Regulations of
2015, the University of Delhi is committed to provide an
academic and work environment free of sexual harassment
for students, faculty and non-teaching staff of University of
Delhi.
ICC is a mandatory body which ensures the safety of the
people from sexual harassments.
Composition

The Internal Complaints Committee comprises of the following
members selected in accordance with the requirements of the Act:
v A Presiding officer who shall be a woman faculty member
employed at a senior level at the educational institute, nominated
by the executive authority.
v Two faculty members and two non-faculty members nominated
by the executive authority.
v Three students, if the matter involves students, elected through
transparent democratic procedure.
v One member from amongst non-governmental organizations /
associations committed to the cause of women or a person
familiar with the issues relating to sexual harassment, nominated
by the executive authority.
